The theme song for the Yilan Green Expo, "May Dreams Bloom," is sung in the Yilan dialect, conveying the mother tongue.

The Yilan Green Expo, now in its 27th year, opened on March 28th at the Wulaokeng Scenic Area. The organizers released the expo's theme song, "May Dreams Bloom," today. Veteran musician Hsieh Wen-te drew inspiration from Mother Yilan, using the local dialect to convey a mother's words, creating a moving melody and warm human touch.

The 44-day Yilan Green Expo transforms the vast Wulaokeng Park into an ecological paradise, with different themes each year. This year's theme is "Treasures of Science and Technology," featuring 18 sustainability exhibition areas, 19 fun and physical fitness facilities, and thousands of DIY experience activities. Musician Hsieh Wen-te, a native of Yilan, composed the Green Expo theme song "May Dreams Bloom," which premiered today in the county government hall.

Acting County Magistrate Lin Mao-sheng said that "Gezhi Treasure" originates from "Gewu Zhizhi" in the Book of Rites, which means to study and investigate the truth of all things and then obtain the treasure of knowledge. In other words, it is to connect with the "Natural Solution (NbS)" in the disordered climate, to repair the earth, protect species and cherish the ocean. He welcomed people from all over the country, along with their parents, teachers and students, to come to the Green Expo Gezhi Academy and discover their own sustainable treasure in the rhythm of all things.

"Rice ears are full and the plow is heavy," "The fire magpie also comes to visit," "The days are slow, let's go today"... This year's Green Expo theme song, "May Dreams Bloom," maintains its consistent warmth and is full of positive sunshine. Xie Wende, who has composed the theme song for the Green Expo for the fourth time, uses his mother's Yilan dialect to blend the elegant and poetic mother tongue into the warm melody, which is touching.

Hsieh Wen-te said that looking back on the warmth of helping each other and working together, he misses the days when material things were not plentiful, but the pace was slow and the water and sky were clear. He hopes to remind people through the song that since everyone is just a passerby, we have a responsibility to preserve the earth's vitality for future generations. This dream does not have to be grand, as long as we can sow the seeds of kindness together.

The theme song will resonate throughout the Wulaokeng Park during the 44-day event. The exhibition hall features 18 attractions, including the amazing ocean "Azure Pulse," the gas mystery "El's Paradise," and the energy-themed "Future Power Company." There are also 19 low-carbon family-friendly play facilities, including a human gyroscope and a dream net.
